MIAMI, Dec. 20 (UPI) -- Some big name wide receivers let fantasy football team owners down last week in the final four.
But if you were lucky enough to gain entrance into your league's championship despite poor performances from your pass-catchers, you might want to rethink starting them again.
To help you figure out who to sit or start at the position for your fantasy football championship, take a look at my top 50 wide receivers for Week 16. You can also view my add/drops for the week and more positional rankings in the links below.
TOP SHELF
Odell Beckham Jr. is my top wide receiver for Week 16. The New York Giants stud is primed for championship glory with a battle against the Philadelphia Eagles, a unit allowing the fourth-most fantasy points to wide receivers. Beckham has rediscovered the big play as of late, scoring seven times since his Week 8 bye. He is a good bet to torch the Eagles in this NFC East clash.
New England Patriots pass catcher Julian Edelman should be leaned on heavily by Tom Brady against the New York Jets. Edelman should be a WR1 in this Christmas Eve matchup against a defense allowing the ninth-most fantasy points to wide receivers. Edelman now has at least 73 receiving yards in every game since Week 8.
SNEAKY PLAYS
Allen Robinson returns to the WR2 radar with a battle against the Tennessee Titans. The Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver should help you against a Titans secondary allowing the third-most fantasy points to wide receivers. But buyer beware, Robinson hasn't had more than three receptions in a game since Week 10. He hasn't scored since Week 11.
San Diego Chargers wide receiver Dontrelle Inman is a low-end WR2 with a game against the Cleveland Browns. The Browns have allowed the second-most touchdowns to opposing wide receivers. Inman has three touchdowns in his last four games and is a lock to see more targets from quarterback Philip Rivers in this matchup between AFC cellar dwellers.
LONGSHOTS
Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Kenny Britt is a WR3 against the San Francisco 49ers, a unit allowing the most touchdowns and second-most points to the position. Britt has been quietly consistent this season, by gaining 49 yards and/or having at least four receptions in every game since his Week 8 bye. He also has three scores in that time frame.
Donte Moncrief has a Week 16 showdown against the Oakland Raiders. He is a borderline WR3 in this battle against a unit allowing the 12th-most fantasy points to the position. The Indianapolis Colts wide receiver had a streak of five consecutive games with a touchdown, before going down to a hamstring injury in Week 14. If you plan you deploying Moncrief, be sure to monitor his practice activity heading into the weekend.
