Feb. 8 (UPI) -- The Cleveland Cavaliers started what is expected to be a series of moves on Thursday, by trading Isaiah Thomas to the Los Angeles Lakers.

League sources told ESPN and Yahoo Sports that Los Angeles is sending Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr. to Cleveland in exchange for the two-time All-Star, Channing Frye and the Cavaliers' first-round pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.

The Cavaliers acquired Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic and a first-round pick in the 2018 NBA Draft this summer from the Boston Celtics, in exchange for All-Star guard Kyrie Irving.

The move comes just one day after Thomas told reporters that he was "tired of being traded." The 29-year-old has played for four franchises during his seven-year NBA tenure.

"I'm tired of being traded," Thomas said after the Cavaliers' win Wednesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves. "That's not a good thing, but, I just want to be where I'm wanted. I like it here. It hasn't been as planned, but I definitely want to be here. We definitely have a real chance to win an NBA championship and I want to be a part of that."

Thomas was traded from the Kings to the Suns in 2014. He was shipped from Phoenix to Boston in 2015, before landing in Cleveland in August.

He was averaging 14.7 points and 4.5 assists per game for the Cavaliers. Thomas was also shooting a career-worst 36 percent from the floor. Frye, 34, was averaging 4.8 points and 2.5 rebounds in 12.4 minutes per game. Nance, 25, was averaging 8.6 points and 6.8 rebounds in 22 minutes per game this season for the Lakers. Clarkson is posting 14.5 points, 3.3 assists and 3 rebounds per game this season.

Thomas and Frye are both free agents after this season.

The NBA trade deadline is at 3 p.m. Thursday.
