Kings' Vince Carter puts on pregame dunk show

Feb. 6 (UPI) -- Vince Carter showed that he still has world-class hops during a dunk display before the Sacramento Kings' win against the Chicago Bulls.

The 41-year-old NBA veteran showed off his athleticism before scoring four points in the Kings' victory Tuesday at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, Calif.

NBC Sports posted a video of Carter before the game. He lined up just beyond the free-throw line before bouncing the ball hard into the paint. He chased the self-pass and caught the ball off of the backboard, before throwing it down for a huge right-handed dunk.

Carter is in his 20th NBA season. He has played for seven franchises: the Toronto Raptors, New Jersey Nets, Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, Memphis Grizzlies and the Kings.

The 1998-1999 Rookie of the Year, eight-time All-Star and two-time All-NBA selection is averaging a career-low five points per game and is logging just 16.6 minutes per bout this season.

Carter was the winner of the 2000 NBA Slam Dunk Contest when he played for the Raptors. He joins Dirk Nowitzki as the only active players from the 1998 NBA Draft. Cleveland Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue and recently retired Paul Pierce were also drafted that year.
