Charlotte Hornets center Dwight Howard fined for fan incident

The NBA has fined Charlotte Hornets center Dwight Howard $25,000 for making an obscene gesture toward a fan.

The fine was announced Tuesday by the Kiki VanDeWeghe, the league's executive vice president of basketball operations.

The incident occurred with 1:15 remaining in the second quarter of the Hornets' 112-94 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday at Target Center in Minneapolis.
