Morris had his best numbers last year, in his first season as a starter. In 2014, Morris started 82 games, averaging 15.3 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.

The Kansas product was selected No. 13 overall in the 2011 NBA Draft. His twin brother, Marcus, was selected No. 14 overall in the same draft by the Houston Rockets.

Markieff is due $7.4 million in 2016, $8 million in 2017 and $8.6 million in 2018. He becomes an unrestricted free agent in 2019.

The Wizards will send DeJuan Blair, Kris Humphries and a protected first-round pick to the Suns in exchange for the power forward.

Morris told AZ Central Sports' Paul Coro that he was content in Arizona.

"Happy where I am now and we'll see what happens," Morris told Coro Thursday.

"It's a part of the game. I've learned that this past two years. A lot of stuff is going to happen that's not in my control. All I can do is wait to see if I'm here. If I'm not, I had a couple great years here and I loved it. If I am, keep on moving forward and get better."
