NHL: New Jersey 2, Florida 1 (OT)

NEWARK, N.J., Jan. 11 (UPI) -- Marek Zidlicky scored with 1 second remaining in overtime Saturday, giving the New Jersey Nets a 2-1 victory over Florida.

With the clock winding down, the Devils' Travis Zajac won a face-off in the Panthers' zone, sending the puck to Jaromir Jagr, who quickly back-handed a pass to Zidlicky above the right circle.

The Devils defenseman blasted a one-time shot off the feed, which hit a stick and went up high, beating Tim Thomas for the game-winner.

Michael Ryder also scored and Cory Schneider stopped 29-of-30 shots for New Jersey, which notched a second straight win followed a three-game skid.

Thomas finished with 34 saves and Nick Bjugstad got the only goal for Florida.
