NHL: Vancouver 4, Calgary 2

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- Mikael Samuelsson and Alexandre Burrows each scored two goals Saturday and the NHL-leading Vancouver Canucks downed Calgary 4-2.

Samuelsson's two tallies came less than 3 minutes apart in the second period to put the Canucks up 3-2 and Burrows added a first-period marker and an empty-netter for Vancouver, which improved to 36-11-9, four points better than Philadelphia for the NHL's best record.

Roberto Luongo stopped 24-of-26 shots while raising his season's record to 27-8-7, tied for the highest win total in the league along with Detroit's Jimmy Howard.

Tim Jackman and Curtis Glencross found the net for Calgary, which dropped into ninth place in the Western Conference standings behind Minnesota.

Miikka Kiprusoff turned aside 29-of-32 for the Flames.
