CALGARY, Alberta, Feb. 12 (UPI) -- Cam Fowler lifted a backhander past Miikka Kiprusoff with 18.6 seconds left in overtime Friday to give Anaheim a 5-4 win over Calgary.
It was the seventh goal of the season for the rookie defenseman and brought the Ducks their 13th win in 17 games.
Teemu Selanne tied it up for Anaheim with 2:07 remaining in the third period. Selanne's goal came while Calgary's Curtis Glencross was in the penalty box for hooking, one of only four minor penalties called during the entire game.
Anaheim's Saku Koivu scored twice, but the Ducks got a shorthanded goal from Brandon McMillan to take a 3-2 lead midway through the second period.
Jarome Iginla and Glencross produced Calgary goals early in the third to put the Flames back in front before Selanne forced overtime with his power-play tally.
Curtis McElhinney was credited with the win after stopping 21-of-25 shots. Kiprusoff made 25 saves for the Flames, who had won their previous two games.
