San Jose's Antti Niemi got the best of Vancouver's Roberto Luongo in an outstanding goaltending duel, which saw the netminders face a total of 82 shots in regulation and overtime.

Henrik Sedin scored for the Sharks midway through the first period and Logan Couture tied it in the second. Niemi turned aside 36 of 37 shots and was perfect in the shootout. Luongo stopped 44 of 45 shots.

Pavelski's goal came in the second round of the shootout and Niemi clinched San Jose's victory by stopping Ryan Kesler on Vancouver's third try.

San Jose has won three in a row on the heels of a six-game losing streak.
