MLB: Tampa Bay 2, LA Angels 0

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., May 10 (UPI) -- Scott Kazmir and three relievers combined to hurl a three-hit shutout Saturday in the Tampa Bay Rays' 2-0 blanking of the LA Angels of Anaheim.

Kazmir (1-1), making his second start this season after missing the month of April with a left elbow strain, gave up three hits and three walks in six scoreless innings. He recorded six strikeouts.

The winners got one RBI each from Evan Longoria and Carlos Pena.

Akinori Iwamura had three hits and Jason Bartlett two for the Rays, who have won three in a row and four of five.

Closer Troy Percival earned his eighth save following one scoreless inning apiece from Trever Miller and Dan Wheeler.

Three players all had one hit for the Angels, who have dropped three in a row after a four-game winning streak.

Losing pitcher Joe Saunders (6-1) surrendered an earned run on four hits in six innings in his first loss this season.
