NHL: East 8, West 7

ATLANTA, Jan. 27 (UPI) -- Marc Savard scored the final goal to give the Eastern Conference an 8-7 win over the Western Conference in the NHL's 56th All-Star game Sunday.

Eric Staal was the game MVP with two goals and an assist on the game-winner for the Eastern Conference.

Alex Ovechkin had two scores and Brian Campbell registered a goal and two assists for the East.

Savard and Marian Hossa picked up a goal and a helper each in the win.

Rick Nash lead the Western Conference with a hat trick, while Henrik Sedin added two assists and Dion Phaneuf, Marian Gaborik, Ryan Getzlaf and Scott Niedermayer each hit the net once.
