NHL: Dallas 5, Phoenix 3

GLENDALE, Ariz., Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Mike Ribeiro had a goal and two assists Saturday night, as the Dallas Stars beat the Phoenix Coyotes, 5-3.

Ribeiro's third goal of the season, at 7:22 of the third period, gave Dallas an insurmountable 5-2 advantage.

Sergei Zubov, Jere Lehtinen, Mike Modano and Niklas Hagman all scored once.

Brenden Morrow had three assists, while goaltender Mike Smith yielded three goals on 31 shots for the Stars, who have won three of their last four games.

Phoenix got one goal apiece from Shane Doan, Radim Vrbata and Daniel Carcillo.

Doan added two assists, and goalie Alex Auld was beaten five times on 25 shots, as the Coyotes suffered the fourth loss in their last five games.

On the power play, Dallas was 2-for-5 and the Coyotes were 0-for-4.
