MLB: St. Louis 6, Chicago Cubs 4

CHICAGO, Aug. 20 (UPI) -- Albert Pujols and Rick Ankiel both homered for St. Louis Monday as the Cardinals posted a 6-4 win over the Chicago Cubs.

Scott Rolen went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and three RBI for the Cardinals, who pulled to three games back of Chicago in the National League Central.

St. Louis pitcher Joel Pineiro (4-2) allowed three runs on seven hits in five innings. Jason Isringhausen worked two scoreless innings of relief to earn his 23rd save.

Daryle Ward, Mark DeRosa and Derrek Lee all homered for the Cubs, who lost for the first time in four games.

Ted Lilly (13-6) gave up five runs on seven hits in six innings to take the loss.
