World No. 1 Ochoa leads Canadian Open

EDMONTON, Alberta, Aug. 18 (UPI) -- World No. 1 Lorena Ochoa had a 7-under 64 Saturday to take the lead after the third round of the LPGA Canadian Open at Edmonton, Alberta.

Ochoa was at 14-under-par 199 after 54 holes to set a tournament record. Ochoa bested the previous record of 200, set by Meg Mallon in 2004.

Ochoa will need to break 70 Sunday to beat Mallon's 72-hole record, as the Women's British Open champion seeks her fifth win of the year and her 14th on the LPGA Tour.

Paula Creamer shot a 66 and is tied for second place at 203 with first-round leader Laura Diaz, who had a 68 Saturday. Ya-Ni Tseng (67) is in fourth at 205.

Juli Inkster, a second-round co-leader, had a 73 and is tied for fifth with Kimberly Hall (72) at 207. Shi Hyun Ahn (74), the other overnight co-leader, shared seventh place with Julieta Granada (66), Young Jo (68), Mallon (68), Jeong Jang (70) and Brittany Lang (70) at 208.
