BOSTON, April 21 (UPI) -- David Ortiz hit a two-run home run and drove in four runs Saturday as the Boston Red Sox beat the New York Yankees, 7-5.

Julio Lugo had one run, two hits and two RBI; Kevin Youkilis had two runs, two hits and one RBI; Coco Crisp had two runs and two hits; and Jason Varitek had two hits for the Red Sox -- who have won the first two games in the three-game weekend series.

Winner Josh Beckett (4-0) gave up five runs -- four earned -- and nine hits in 6 2/3 innings.

Jonathan Papelbon recorded his fifth save of the season.

Alex Rodriguez had two hits and one RBI, and Derek Jeter had two runs and two hits for New York. Robinson Cano had two hits and one RBI, and a run scored on Jeter's second inning groundout for the Yankees, who have split their last four games.

Loser Jeff Karstens (0-1) surrendered seven earned runs and nine hits in 4 1/3 innings.
