NHL: Nashville 5, Calgary 3

NASHVILLE, Jan. 15 (UPI) -- David Legwand had a goal and two assists Monday in helping the Nashville Predators to a sixth consecutive victory in a 5-3 win over the Calgary Flames.

Both teams entered Monday with five-game winning streaks but the Flames' ended mostly because of two Nashville goals in a span of 80 seconds in the third period.

With the score tied 2-2, Ryan Suter flipped a pass by Jerred Smithson past Calgary goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff 2:28 into the third period. Shortly thereafter, Legwand beat Kiprusoff on his glove side to make the score 4-2.

Kristian Huselius scored his second goal of the game with 2:54 to go but Nashville sealed the contest with an empty-net goal by Scott Hartnell.

Nashville's Martin Erat got the game's first goal, 4:14 after the opening drop, with Legwand assisting on the play. Calgary's Daymond Langkow made it 1-1 with 2:37 left in the period and the Flames took the led with 22 seconds to goal in the first with a power-play goal from Huselius.

The Predators' Jason Arnott had a second-period power-play goal to make the score 2-2.
