NEW YORK, July 28 (UPI) -- Chien-Ming Wang hurled a complete game, two-hit shutout Friday night as the New York Yankees beat Tampa Bay, 6-0.
Derek Jeter had one run, three hits and two RBI; Bernie Williams hit a solo home run; Alex Rodriguez hit a run-scoring single; and Jorge Posada drove in two runs for the Yankees (60-40), who are second to Boston in the American League East Division, but lead the AL wild-card race.
The Yankees have won four in a row and five of their last six games.
Wang (12-4) had two walks and one strikeout.
Julio Lugo and Ty Wigginton each had a hit for the Devil Rays (42-61), who have dropped four of their last five games.
Losing pitcher Tim Corcoran (L 4-2) yielded five runs and seven hits in 3 1/3 innings with six walks and one strikeout.
