MLB: NY Yankees 6, Texas 2

ARLINGTON, Texas, July 24 (UPI) -- Randy Johnson continued his domination of the Rangers with six solid innings Monday as the New York Yankees beat Texas, 6-2.

Johnson (11-8) allowed seven hits and two runs, walked two and struck out seven to move to 16-5 lifetime against the Rangers. The five-time Cy Young Award winner got victory No. 274, moving him past Red Ruffing for 30th place on the all-time list.

Miguel Cairo hit a go-ahead two-run double in the fourth inning and Alex Rodriguez broke out of a slump with two hits.

Rodriguez had been hitless in his 10 previous at-bats and mired in a 4-for-27 slump.

Aaron Guiel homered for the Yankees, who had lost four of their previous five. Melky Cabrera had three hits and scored twice.

Kevin Millwood (10-6) took the loss. Mark Teixeira homered and drove in both runs for the Rangers.
