MLB: San Francisco 2, Texas 1

SAN FRANSCISCO, Calif., June 29 (UPI) -- A two-out RBI single by Omar Vizquel in the bottom of the eighth inning Thursday afternoon gave San Francisco a 2-1 win over the Texas Rangers.

Vizquel had two of his team's five hits, while Jason Ellison hit a sacrifice fly for the Giants (40-38), who swept the three-game series and have won four of their last five games.

In relief of starter Jason Schmidt, winning pitcher Jonathan Sanchez improved to 2-0. Jeremy Accardo earned his third save with a scoreless ninth inning.

Schmidt is unbeaten in his last nine starts.

Mark Teixeira drove in the only run, Mark DeRosa hit his first triple of the season, and Ian Kinsler had two hits for the Rangers (40-39), who have lost five games in a row.

The loser was reliever Scott Feldman (0-2).
