Federer wins again at Melbourne

MELBOURNE, Jan. 21 (UPI) -- Roger Federer, the men's No. 1 seed, beat Max Mirnyi, 6-3, 6-4, 6-3, Saturday in the third round of the Australian Open at Melbourne.

Federer has lost only 22 games through three matches. It was the hottest day so far of this year's tournament.

Also, Sebastien Grosjean ousted Guillermo Coria, 6-2, 6-2, 3-6, 6-4. Paul-Henri Mathieu beat Luis Horna, 7-6 (7-2), 7-6 (9-7), 6-1, and will play Grosjean in the round of 16.

Nikolay Davydenko was a 6-2, 5-7, 6-4, 7-5, winner over Nathan Healey; Dominik Hrbaty outlasted Igor Andreev, 1-6, 6-4, 6-3, 2-6, 6-4; Tommy Haas topped Peter Luczak, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 6-4; Nicolas Kiefer beat Juan Carlos Ferrero, 6-3, 6-2, 5-7, 6-2; and Juan Ignacio Chela beat Kristof Vliegen, 6-1, 6-4, 6-4.
