MLB: Washington 5, Milwaukee 2

WASHINGTON, May 16 (UPI) -- Marlon Byrd had three hits and three RBI in his Washington debut Monday while leading the Nationals to a 5-2 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers.

Byrd was acquired Saturday in a trade with Philadelphia for Endy Chavez. He started in left field. Vinny Castilla homered for the Nationals, who have won three straight games.

Tony Armas, Jr. (1-1) pitched seven innings for the win. Armas, making his second start of the season, allowed two runs and five hits. The righthander began the season on the disabled list with a strained right groin.

Carlos Lee homered for the Brewers, who have lost three straight. Brewers starter Doug Davis (4-5) was charged with five runs on nine hits in six innings.
