KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C., Oct. 26 (UPI) -- Tom Kite and Fred Funk were added Tuesday to the U.S. team to compete in the UBS Cup golf matches next month.
The UBS Cup is an annual match play event between the United States and a Rest of the World squad, which also completed its roster, adding Sandy Lyle, Rodger Davis, Peter Senior and John Chillas.
Each UBS Cup team has six players age 40-49 and six players 50 and over.
The Americans retained their cup title in a 12-12 tie last year. This year's event will be Nov. 19-21 at the Cassique course on Kiawah Island.
The U.S. squad includes captain Arnold Palmer, Fred Couples, Curtis Strange, Hal Sutton, Jay Haas, Raymond Floyd, Hale Irwin, Scott Hoch, Mark O'Meara and Craig Stadler.
Members of the Rest of the World team include captain Gary Player, Sam Torrance, Mark McNulty, Bernhard Langer, Carl Mason, Ian Woosnan, Colin Montgomerie and Barry Lane.
