July 13 (UPI) -- A New Jersey couple said a lottery ticket worth nearly $90,000 almost ended up taking a trip to the auto detailer.
Gary Fuentes of Carteret told New Jersey Lottery officials she and her husband bought a Jersey Cash 5 ticket and a Mega Millions ticket at the local Cooke Avenue Food Mart and the two tickets ended up being left in their Jeep to be checked later.
Fuentes said her husband took the Jeep to be detailed the following weekend and nearly forgot to grab the tickets before leaving the vehicle behind.
She said it was a good thing he kept the tickets safe, as the Cash 5 ticket turned out to be an $87,373 winner.
The couple said they plan to use some of the cash for a down payment on a house and the rest will go into savings.
