They're teaming up for the first time on national television to perform "Beer Run," which is featured on Jones' new album "The Rock: Stone Cold Country 2001" and Brooks' upcoming Capitol release "Scarecrow," due out later this month.

Brooks & Dunn are scheduled to open the show with their rousing anthem "Only In America."

The Dixie Chicks will perform a song they have not yet released, "Travelin' Soldier." The tune was written by Bruce Robison, the writer of "Angry All The Time," Tim McGraw's current No.1 hit.

2001 CHRISTIAN COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS

John Berry and Crystal Gayle hosted the 2001 Christian Country Music Awards last Thursday night at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. John was named mainstream country artist of the year during the ceremony.

Other winners included Dan Tyminski for Mainstream Song of the Year with "I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow," and Tammy Cochran's "Angels in Waiting" for Top Video. Southern gospel group The Fox Brothers won Entertainer of the Year and Opry member Jack Greene was honored with the Pioneer Award. Margo Smith was awarded the Living Legend Award.

And they'll perform on CBS's "The Early Show" on Wednesday prior to their appearance on the CMA Awards that evening. The duo is up for Single, Album, Duo and Entertainer of the Year awards. JEFF CARSON AT NEW YORK POLICE MEMORIAL

Country music artist Jeff Carson will participate in the Port Authority Police Memorial Service, which includes more than 2,000 police vehicles from around the nation converging on a designated base point and traveling to "Ground Zero." The service will honor the fallen comrades of the events of Sept. 11. This will be one of Carson's first duties since taking the active role of national spokesperson for the National Association of Slain Officers.

Carson will sing "God Bless America" at One Police Plaza in downtown Manhattan and make the state flags presentation. The caravan will then travel to Sacred Heart Cathedral in Newark, N.J., for a private ceremony after which Jeff will perform for the police associations.

Carson stated, "So many things in country music have given me joy, and I've had the privilege of meeting a lot of great people...but none greater than the ones I anticipate meeting this weekend and in New York. They're real life heroes."

Complete details and times are being held for security purposes.
