The Gentlemen is based on the 2019 film of the same name, which was written and directed by Guy Ritchie and starred Matthew McConaughey and Charlie Hunnam.

The series follows Eddie (Theo James), a British aristocrat who inherits his father's estate, only to discover it is sitting on top of a marijuana empire owned by Mickey Pearson.

Giancarlo Esposito, Kaya Scodelario, Daniel Ings, Vinnie Jones and Joely Richardson also star.

James' poster shows him wearing a three-piece suit and features the caption "Fresh heir," while Esposito's includes the tagline "Sharp suits sharper knives."

Netflix shared a teaser trailer for the show in January.

The Gentlemen is created, written, directed and executive produced by Ritchie. The series premieres March 7.
