NEW YORK, April 2 (UPI) -- Mark Consuelos demonstrated his strength Thursday on Live! with Kelly and Michael.

The 44-year-old actor co-hosted the talk show with wife and host Kelly Ripa. Consuelos was filling in for Ripa's co-host Michael Strahan, and showed his support for first lady Michelle Obama's #GimmeFive initiative by bench-pressing Ripa five times.

Ripa will perform her own #GimmeFive challenge from the White House on the morning program Monday. #GimmeFive encourages people to make healthy lifestyle decisions, including exercising and eating right.

Consuelos and Ripa married in May 1996, and have three children together: sons Michael and Joaquin and daughter Lola. The actor celebrated his birthday Monday, and revealed Ripa got him a plaque on a Central Park bench to mark the occasion.
