May 17 (UPI) -- Marc Maron was honored and Wondery's Dying for Sex one big at the first-ever Ambies Awards, which honors excellence in podcasting. The Ambies, from The Podcast Academy, took place Sunday in Los Angeles. Cameron Esposito served as the host.

Maron's podcast WTF with Marc Maron was honored with the inaugural Governors Award, which is given to a podcast or individual for making an impact in the industry.
Dying for Sex won the night's top prize of Podcast of the Year.
Blockbuster, Bunga Bunga, Chasing Cosby, Detours, Dirty Diana, For Life, Forgotten: Women of Juarez, Say Their Name and The Happiness Lab were also nominated.
Dr. Death Season 2 won Best True Crime Podcast, Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend won Best Comedy Podcast, I'm Not a Monster won Best Documentary Podcast, Even the Rich won Best Entertainment Podcast and Blood Ties Season 2 won Best Fiction Podcast.
