I have been so honored to bring my shows to the public for the past 50 years," he said in a statement at the time. "My sincerest apologies to everyone who purchased tickets and were planning to come to the upcoming shows."

Diamond, on social media Tuesday, thanked everyone for their support in response to a tweet from his wife Katie Diamond who said fans in Australia and New Zealand were donating their ticket refunds to Parkinson's research and other charities.

"This makes me smile. Thank you. Thank you to everyone for your outpouring of love and support. It makes a difference," the music icon said.
