Eric and Lara Trump share photo of newborn son Luke

Sept. 12 (UPI) -- Businessman Eric Trump has announced the birth of his first child, a son.

"@LaraLeaTrump and I are excited to announce the birth of our son, Eric "Luke" Trump at 8:50 this morning," President Donald Trump's son tweeted Tuesday.

The message accompanied a photo of Lara holding the sleeping baby, who is swaddled in a striped blanket with a tiny hat on his head. The new parents have been married since 2014.

CNN noted Luke is the president's ninth grandchild. His son Donald Trump Jr. has five children with his wife Vanessa and his daughter Ivanka Trump has three children with her husband Jared Kushner.
