April 28 (UPI) -- Darkseid unleashes his power in the latest gameplay trailer for developer NetherRealm Studios' upcoming DC Comics fighting game sequel, Injustice 2. The clip, released Thursday, features the all-powerful Darkseid as he confronts fellow villain, the planet-collecting Brainiac before the two come to blows.

"Are you a god?" Brainiac asks to which Darkseid replies, "From the fiery depths of Apokolips," before he begins beating down his opponent.
Darkseid is then seen using his teleportation abilities along with his devastating Omega Beams that zig-zag across the stage before finding their target. Darkseid then finishes the battle by sending Brainiac into space who he then grabs and slams back down by moving his arm through a teleporter.
"A being of pure hate incarnate, the lord of Apokolips Darkseid demands the total subjugation of all existence," reads the characters synopsis. "His merciless obsession has left a wake of suffering and obliteration as he seeks the Anti-Life Equation. With his invincible body, limitless strength, army of Parademons, and the annihilating power of his Omega Beams make him not only a threat to this world, but to every world within reach."
Other playable characters that will be featured in the title include Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman, Green Lantern, Cyborg, Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Green Arrow, Supergirl, Black Canary, Blue Beetle, Gorilla Grodd, Swamp Thing, Catwoman, Poison Ivy, Cheetah and Doctor Fate among others.
Darkseid will become available to those who pre-order the game.
Injustice 2 is set to arrive for the Playstation 4 and Xbox One on May 16.
