"You can't have earth, Brainiac," the Man of Steel proclaims before the fighting starts. "It would fare better under your regime?" Brainiac replies in reference to the events of the first game which saw the iconic hero go down a path of tyranny.

Brainiac is then seen using his various tentacles and technological expertise to crush Superman before finishing him off with help from his robotic minions. The gameplay trailer also features Brainiac dealing with the likes of Green Arrow and Gorilla Grodd.

"Brainiac is a megalomaniacal genius who roams the universe, collecting knowledge to increase his intellectual and scientific prowess," reads the characters synopsis. "Obsessed with establishing his superiority, Brainiac captured Krypton's greatest cities, then eradicated what remained...or so he thought."

The story of the game focuses on Brainiac setting his sights on earth following the events of the first game that saw heroes and villains choosing sides between Batman and Superman as they waged war against each other.
