Lady Gaga protests outside Trump Tower

NEW YORK, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Lady Gaga has staged a protest outside Trump Tower in New York City, holding a banner that read "love trumps hate" as Trump secured the presidential nomination.

Gaga, an ardent supporter of Hilary Clinton, stood on a sanitation truck while holding the sign following the announcement of Tuesday's election results.

The 30-year-old singer reportedly wept backstage at what was supposed to a victory party for Clinton, according to MSNBC.

Gaga shared a photo of her protest.

"I want to live in a #CountryOfKindness where #LoveTrumpsHate," she posted to Twitter early Wednesday morning.
