NEW YORK, May 26 (UPI) -- Jessica Lange, Gabriel Byrne and John Gallagher Jr. are to star in the Broadway revival of Long Day's Journey Into Night, the Roundabout Theatre Company announced Tuesday.
The Eugene O'Neill-penned classic will be directed by Jonathan Kent as part of the company's 50th anniversary season.
The show will begin preview performances March 31 and will open officially April 19 at the American Airlines Theatre in Manhattan.
"Elegant in its simplicity, yet limitless in its scope, Long Day's Journey Into Night is the tale of an ordinary summer's day with extraordinary consequences," press notes said. "Drawing so heavily from the author's personal history that it could only be produced posthumously, the story of the Tyrone family and their battle to unearth -- and conceal -- a lifetime of secrets continues to reveal itself to audiences as one of the most profound and powerful plays ever brought to the stage."
The Roundabout said the drama's full cast and design team will be announced shortly.
