TRAPPER JOE: "Swamp People" star Trapper Joe has been arrested in Florida for allegedly punching his girlfriend and trying to burn her with a cigarette, police said.

TMZ said the reality TV personality, whose real name is Noces Joseph LaFont, was arrested for assault and battery early Wednesday at the Buena Vista Hotel and Spa.

Both LaFont and the unidentified woman he was with appeared very drunk and were arguing at the time of the incident, the celebrity news Web site said.

JENNIFER HUDSON: Actress-singer Jennifer Hudson is to appear in a multi-episode arc on Season 2 of the Broadway-themed drama series "Smash," NBC said.

Hudson will portray Veronica Moore, a Tony Award-winning Broadway star who impacts the lives of Karen, played by Katharine McPhee, and Ivy, played by Megan Hilty, the network said.

"We're thrilled to have Jennifer Hudson coming to 'Smash,'" Robert Greenblatt, chairman of NBC Entertainment, said in a statement Friday. "This series is a showcase for some of the best musical talent in the business and that's a fitting description for Jennifer Hudson. Her character will represent someone who reached their Broadway dream but also paid a price for it."

Executive producer Steven Spielberg said: "First 'Dreamgirls,' now 'Smash.' I have no doubt Jennifer will continue to deliver even more inspiration to the audience responsible for giving us a second season on NBC. It's wonderful to be reunited with her at DreamWorks Television and NBC."

Hudson won an Oscar for her work in the movie musical "Dreamgirls."

SAM TAYLOR-WOOD AND AARON JOHNSON: Director Sam Taylor-Wood and actor Aaron Johnson announced Friday they have married in Somerset, England.

Taylor-Wood, 45, and Johnson, 22, have been dating since 2009 and have two children together. They met when Taylor-Wood cast the actor in her directorial debut "Nowhere Boy."

The couple told E! News they were wed Thursday and will now both use the name Taylor-Johnson.

Taylor-Wood also has two children from her previous marriage to art dealer and gallery owner Jay Jopling.

'DEVIOUS MAIDS:' U.S. cable network Lifetime says it has ordered 13 episodes of Marc Cherry's nighttime soap "Devious Maids" to start airing in 2013.

TVGuide.com said the show was initially developed this spring for ABC, but the network declined to order the pilot into a series.

"This show and Marc Cherry's unique storytelling voice perfectly articulate Lifetime's strategy of attracting top-tier creatives with their most original and exciting projects," Lifetime's Nancy Dubuc and Rob Sharenow said in a statement Friday.

Inspired by the hit Mexican telenovela "Ellas son la Alegria del Hogar," "Devious Maids" stars Susan Lucci, Ana Ortiz, Judy Reyes, Dania Ramirez, Roselyn Sanchez, Edy Ganem, Grant Show, Brianna Brown, Rebecca Wisocky, Tom Irwin, Mariana Klaveno, Brett Cullen and Drew Van Acker.

It is Cherry's first television project since "Desperate Housewives" wrapped this spring.
