JIM CARREY: Canadian-born actor Jim Carrey says he still loves Jenny McCarthy's autistic son even though his relationship with the author and TV personality didn't last.

McCarthy, 39, and Carrey, 50, dated for more than five years before breaking up in April 2010.

During their relationship, Carrey was close to Evan, McCarthy's son with her ex-husband, actor John Mallory Asher.

But McCarthy said on Howard Stern's radio show this week her 10-year-old son doesn't understand why Carrey is no longer in their lives.

Although she admitted she hasn't directly reached out to Carrey, she wished he remained in touch with her little boy.

"I've tried to ask (Jim) numerous times (to see Evan,) because my son still asks," the New York Daily News quoted McCarthy as telling Stern.

"I think that sometimes people need to take a real break from each other," she said. "But I still love him. I think you can love people from a distance and respect him. But as a mother, you just hope when you have a relationship with someone, it has nothing to do with the child when you break up."

Carrey responded to McCarthy's comments in a statement issued through his publicist Wednesday.

"I will always do what I believe is in the best interest of Evan's well-being. It's unfortunate that Evan's privacy is not being considered. I love Evan very much and will miss him always," Carrey said.

SHERYL CROW: American singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow said on Facebook she is "healthy and happy" despite being diagnosed with a benign brain tumor.

The 50-year-old breast-cancer survivor confirmed this week she learned about the mass when she had an MRI after suffering memory lapses.

She insisted she is fine, however, in an online posting Wednesday.

"Hey everyone," she said. "Please don't worry about my 'brain tumor,' it's a non-cancerous growth. I know some folks can have problems with this kind of thing, but I want to assure everyone I'm OK. ... I'm feeling very healthy and happy, and having a great time on the road playing with my new band. I'm busy working on my next record too, which I'm very excited about ... and I'll be on The Tony Awards this Sunday. ... Really appreciate everyone's love and concern, I feel so blessed to have the support of all my fans, but I'm good -- really! Love, Sheryl."

AMANDA BYNES: Amanda Bynes' lawyer entered a not guilty plea on the Hollywood actress' behalf Wednesday for a DUI charge, People.com said.

The Los Angeles City Attorney's Office announced Tuesday the "Hairspray" and "What a Girl Wants" star had been charged with misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

She was arrested April 6 after she allegedly hit a police cruiser she was trying to pass at around 3 a.m.

The complaint against Bynes said the 26-year-old actress refused a peace officer's request to submit to and/or complete a chemical test to determine how much -- if any -- substance was in her system.

Bynes repeatedly has denied drinking or using drugs before getting behind the wheel the night in question.

People.com said Wednesday she faces a maximum penalty as a first-time offender of 48 hours in jail, three years' probation and a nine-month alcohol program, if convicted. She could also lose her driver's license for a year.
