LOS ANGELES, Feb. 7 (UPI) -- Hollywood actor Matthew McConaughey, whose Brazilian model girlfriend is expecting their first child, said he expects fatherhood to be a great adventure.
While promoting his new movie "Fool's Gold," McConaughey said he isn't having second thoughts about doing film stunts now that he's about to become a father.
"Like in any sport, if you start playing not to get injured, that's when you get injured. So, no. I've had some scary situations working on films, and on this one in particular I had quite a few, but not to an extent where I regretted something I did," he told reporters, adding the same goes for his real-life pursuits.
"I'm not stupid with my activities. I love to go out and get into it, but I'm not foolish with them," he said. "I'm a lot more concerned right now about having some nut job run in the room and try and harm me or somebody I care about. ... It's the other people I'm worried about."
McConaughey also said he expects fatherhood to be "a great adventure."
"I've always wanted to be a father and I was just waiting for the right time and with the right woman and now it is. So, I'm excited."
