Death at Barrymore's home to be revisited

LONDON, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- British police have reopened an investigation into the death of factory worker Stuart Lubbock, found dead at comedian Michael Barrymore's home five years ago.

The decision to revisit the closed case was due to a recent review of the original investigation, The Independent reported. Area police are planning to determine whether Lubbock's apparent death in the comedian's pool was merely a coverup.

The 31-year-old was found dead in March 2001 at the game show host's home during a party, and was initially ruled to have died from drowning.

But Lubbock's father has been petitioning since the original ruling that the case be revisited to look into claims of a possible sexual assault of his son, and to look at why the police were not notified until an hour after the death.

The Independent said it was unknown whether the "Strike It Lucky" host will be or had been re-interviewed by police now that the investigation has been reopened.
