Triumph Group acquires Saygrove

WAYNE, Pa., March 16 (UPI) -- Pennsylvania-based Triumph Group Inc. has acquired unmanned aerial vehicle technologies developer Saygrove Defense and Aerospace Group Ltd.

Triumph Group, an aircraft-components maintenance company, announced the purchase of Wales-based Saygrove in a move to expand its capabilities in the UAV market. Triumph said Saygrove will now operate as Triumph Actuation & Motion Control Systems-U.K. Ltd.

Saygrove is a developer of flight-actuation and motor-control systems used in electric aircraft and UAVs, among other technologies.

"We view this acquisition as a unique opportunity to expand our capabilities because it represents the next generation of electronic controls for actuation and motor control," Richard Ill, Triumph president and chief executive, said in a statement.

"We believe that Saygrove's products and technologies allow for significant advancements in the type of work that we can pursue and positions us well for future growth."
