Jan. 24 (UPI) -- Christina Aguilera says her new album is on the way.

The 37-year-old singer gave an update on her eighth studio release in an Instagram Stories post Monday after a fan left a message on her Hollywood Walk of Fame star.

"It's coming [expletive]," she wrote in response to a person asking, "Dear Christina Aguilera Where the [expletive] is the new album?" with strategically-placed notes on the plaque.

Aguilera had teased her return in November by tagging filmmaker Luke Gilford in an Instagram post, writing, "New things on the horizon." She shared another photo with Gilford last week, captioning it with two black heart emojis.

Aguilera released the album Lotus in November 2012, and followed up with the singles "We Remain" and "Say Something" the next year. She told Entertainment Tonight in 2016 that she was working on "multiple albums."

"One being a followup to my debut Spanish album, [and] a few solo projects with some incredible producers," the star shared.

"I'm super, super excited," she added. "I'm more inspired than I've been in a really long time. It's a really, really exciting time for me."
