U.S. Army aviation gets QinetiQ assist

MCLEAN, Va., Aug. 12 (UPI) -- QinetiQ North America has received a $22 million U.S. Army task order to provide support for the service's aviation Unit Level Logistics System.

The award was issued by the Software Engineering Center-Fort Lee Communications and Electronics Command through the U.S. Government Services Administration's Alliant acquisition contract.

The award has a one-year base term with two option years.

The ULLS-A(E) is an automated aviation logbook and maintenance and logistics management system that allows Army aviation units to perform and track maintenance and supply operations in accordance with the Army Maintenance Management Systems-Aviation. It is fielded to every aviation unit in the Army and has more than 52,000 users in over 600 Army Aviation Units and support facilities.

QinetiQ North America is the original developer of ULLS-A(E) software.

Under the new task order, QinetiQ North America will continue to provide SEC-Lee with software engineering solutions for their maintenance, logistics and business intelligence applications.

Additional work includes project management, data conversion and completion of the ULLS-A(E) training, fielding and implementation to additional aviation and support organizations as required.
