TASC wins WMD contingency contract

CHANTILLY, Va., March 21 (UPI) -- TASC Inc. of Virginia will engage in contingency planning for weapons of mass destruction under a $97 million contract from the Defense Threat Reduction Agency.

The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity award to provide advisory and assistance services to the Combat Support and Nuclear Support Directorates of the DTRA Operations Enterprise is for five years.

"Possession of WMD and nuclear capability by hostile nations and terrorists is one of the greatest threats to the United States," says Pamela Drew, senior vice president of Enterprise Solutions at TASC.

"TASC has supported DTRA and its predecessors for nearly 40 years. This long history positions TASC well to continue to provide DTRA and the nation with the best possible CBRNE program support."

Under the contract, TASC will support directorate leadership, consequence management, contingency operations and the Defense Threat Reduction University. TASC will also support nuclear programs and stockpile operations to help ensure the effectiveness of the U.S. nuclear deterrent.

Working with TASC to meet contract requirements will be subcontractors Analytic Services, Inc.; ARServices, Limited; A-T Solutions; Dynamis, Inc.; URS Group Inc.; Universal Solutions International Inc.; and Watermark Risk Management International LLC.
