WASHINGTON, Jan. 15 (UPI) -- Ikea has recalled 169,000 crib mattresses due to the threat of entrapment of infants in cribs with the product.

The home decor and furniture company issued the recall Tuesday in response to reports of two infants becoming entrapped between the mattress and an end of the crib. Neither child was injured.

The recall includes the Ikea Vyssa style crib mattress with the model names of Vackert, Vinka, Spelevink, Sloa and Slummer. The affected mattresses were manufactured on May 4, 2014, or earlier. The date can be found on an identification label attached to the mattress.

"Consumers should inspect the recalled mattress by making sure there is no gap larger than the width of two fingers between the ends of the crib and the mattress," the recall, posted on the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission website, read. "If any gap is larger, customers should immediately stop using the recalled mattresses and return it to any IKEA store for an exchange or a full refund.
