Blackhawks acquire Mark Janssens

CHICAGO, July 6 -- The Chicago Blackhawks Thursday reacquired 13-year veteran center Mark Janssens on waivers from the Philadelphia Flyers.

On June 12, the Blackhawks traded Janssens, 32, to the Flyers for Philadelphia's ninth-round choice in the entry draft.

With the pick, Chicago selected defenseman Arne Ramholt from the Swedish Elite League.

Janssens recorded six assists and 73 penalty minutes in 36 ganes for the Blackhawks last season. He has registered 40 goals and 73 assists for 113 points in 683 NHL games with the New York Rangers, Minnesota North Stars, Hartford Whalers, Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, New York Islanders, Phoenix Coyotes and Blackhawks.

Originally picked by the Rangers in the fourth round of the 1986 draft, Janssens had his best season for the Whalers in 1992-93, when he had 12 goals, 17 assists and 237 penalty minutes.
