FOXBORO, Mass. -- The New England Patriots Wednesday waived fifth-year center Trevor Matich, the team's first-round draft choice in 1985.
With the open roster spot, the Patriots signed former University of Connecticut linebacker Eric Naposki, who played in three games with New England last year.

Matich, 27, from Brigham Young, was the 28th pick overall in the 1985 draft.
