THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. -- Linebacker Eric Naposki was released Tuesday by the Dallas Cowboys.

Naposki, 6-2, 230, was signed as a free agent by Dallas this spring after playing three games as a rookie with the New England Patriots last year.

He sustained a badly turned right ankle late in the spring that the Cowboys said hampered his progress in training camp.
