COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Quarterback Dee Dowis ran for 129 yards and a touchdown Saturday to help Air Force to a 27-10 victory over Army and recapture the Commander-in-Chief Trophy.

Dowis scored on a 3-yard run and set up another touchdown with a 65-yard gain as he increased his season rushing total to 1,163 yards.

Anthony Roberson and Albert Booker also ran for scores, and Kevin Hughes returned an interception 24 yards for a Falcons' touchdown.

Air Force, which beat Navy 23-13 earlier this season, locked up the annual round-robin competition between the nation's service academies.

Scouts from the Bluebonnet and Freedom bowls watched as the Falcons improved to 7-3.

Army, which trailed 14-3 at the half, cut the margin to 14-10 on Tory Crawford's 46-yard touchdown pass to Mike Mayweather with 7:25 to go in the third quarter.

But two plays after the kickoff, Dowis raced 65 yards with a keeper to the Black Knights 1. After three unsuccessful tries up the middle, Dowis pitched wide to Booker, who went around end to give the Falcons a 21-10 lead with 3:59 left in the period.

Air Force added an insurance score in the final period when linebacker Randle Gladney blindsided Crawford while he was attempting to pass. The ball popped straight into the air, and Hughes picked it off in mid-stride and waltzed to the end zone.

Air Force scored on its first drive of the game, covering 86 yards in 10 plays, capped by Roberson's 1-yard plunge.

Army's Dave Berdan picked off a Dowis pass, his fourth interception of the season, leading to Bit Rambusch's 32-yard field goal with 7:02 left in the second quarter.

But the Falcons responded with an 16-play, 83-yard drive with Dowis going over from the 3-yard line just 30 seconds before halftime.
