Wife of Titanic captain conveys sympathies

SOUTHAMPTON, England, April 18, 1912 (UP) -- Extending sympathy to the fellow sufferers of the Titanic disaster, Mr. Eleanor Smith, wife of the captain who went to the bottom with the ill-fated liner, today issued the following statement:

"To my poor fellow sufferers: My heart overflows with grief for you. I am laden with sorrow that you should be weighed down with this terrible burden that has been thrust upon us. I pray God will comfort all."
