President Barack Obama is expected to announce limits to the National Security Agency program in a speech delivered from the Department of Justice Friday.

President Barack Obama is expected to announce limits to the National Security Agency program in a speech delivered from the Department of Justice Friday.

According to aids, the NSA will have to seek approval from the federal Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court before it can dig into the database of records collected from American's phone records.

For now, he is also expected to allow the NSA to continue to collect the metadata, while at the same time asking Congress to consider where the data should be permanently stored. Eventually, the goal is to see the records removed from government control.
