A Florida woman said she and her husband nearly fell victim to the man who allegedly shot and killed a fellow movie-goer for texting.

Jamira Dixon said she was watching a movie two weeks ago with her husband when a man she claims was Curtis Reeves began yelling at her to stop texting before the movie.

"He became more irate and upset at the situation," Dixon said. "He kept staring at us and giving us dirty looks."

Dixon said the man was very loud, and that she felt threatened at the time.

She said she was driving when she heard the news that a man had been shot at the Grove 16 movie theaters in Wesley Chapel Monday and had to pull her car over.

"It really hits so close to home," she said. It really makes you think of how things could have went."

Retired police captain Reeves, 71, faces a second-degree murder charge for allegedly shooting and killing Chad Oulson, 43, before a screening of Lone Survivor Monday.
