Jan. 8 (UPI) -- Chris Brown, 24, and his 35-year-old bodyguard, Christopher Hollosy, appeared in D.C. Superior Court Wednesday on misdemeanor assault charges relating to their alleged attack on a fan outside the W Hotel last October.
Both men rejected the D.C. prosecutors' plea deals, which would have required them to plead guilty to one count of simple assault each. Lawyers for Brown and Hollosy said they rejected the deal because Brown is not guilty.
Brown checked into anger-management rehab almost immediately after the altercation and his subsequent arrest. The alleged victim said Brown and his bodyguard punched him when he asked for a photograph.
Prosecutors say they have surveillance footage of the incident, though Brown's legal team wants to see it before they accept any kind of deal.
Brown and Hollosy face up to 180 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.
The singer's D.C. problems could impact his legal troubles in California, where he's still on probation for the 2009 beating of his then-girlfriend Rihanna.
